The Duchess was met by Nick Moberly, the hospital's Chief Executive and Medical Director Professor Julia Wendon, who showed her around the hospital's emergency department and trauma wards.
She was also introduced to two of the hospital's team leaders trained to deal with major incidents, Jane Bond of Gold Command and Silver Command's Mark Madams.
Kate was then invited to meet two groups of staff who were working on the evening of the attacks and have continued to provide support to patients being treated at Kings.
She asked about their roles and praised their efforts, saying: 'Well done.'
Kate asked the staff if despite being trained for such events, it was difficult to deal with the incident. Speaking about the night, head of nursing Lynne Watkins-Hulme told her: 'What was really noticeable on Saturday night was the amount of female patients that were involved.
'That was quite traumatic for the staff. We are not used to so many females being injured.'
